I have been insulating homes in southeastern Wisconsin since I was 16-years-old with nearly 30 years of experience; I know what works and doesn't work. When my father started the business in 1961 we were a distributor; however, we no longer sell the product, we only install. Fully insured and bonded. Most existing homes are under-insulated and in some cases have NO insulation. Adding insulation is the most cost-effective, energy-saving measure you can do. HOW DOES INSULATION WORK?
With an under-insulated home in the summer, the heat transfers through the attic and walls, which makes the interior of the home more hot and humid. In the winter, the heat escapes out the attic and walls therefore the home is cold and drafty.
Insulation is rated in terms of R-value, or resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating effectiveness, which results in lower water, gas and electric bills, and extends the life of your A/C unit. It really pays to insulate. The return on your initial investment is usually within 12-15 months. Insulate with the highest R-value and you will blanket and protect your attic and walls. A well-insulated home not only increases the overall comfort, but also adds to its resale value.
